Data We Collect

When you use Graspnote, we collect the information needed to provide the product: your account information, saved URLs, page titles, page text you choose to save, notes, uploaded document content, video metadata or transcripts when available, chat messages, generated summaries, and related knowledge-library metadata.

The Graspnote Capture extension may read the active tab URL, title, and visible page content only when you use the extension to save or ask about that page. The extension also stores an authentication token locally in Chrome so it can connect your browser to your Graspnote account.

How We Use Data

We use your data to save resources, extract readable text, generate summaries, create search and retrieval indexes, answer your questions, maintain your knowledge library, and keep your account secure.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your saved content for advertising or creditworthiness decisions.

Storage and Processing

Saved content and account data are stored on Graspnote servers and database providers. Some content may be processed by AI service providers to generate summaries, embeddings, and answers. These providers process data only to deliver Graspnote functionality.

Browser Extension Permissions

Graspnote Capture requests browser permissions to open the side panel, identify the current tab, save selected pages, store your extension session, and request access to a website only when you ask Graspnote to read that site. The extension does not run analytics or sell browsing data.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Graspnote's use and transfer of information received from the Graspnote Capture extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Extension data is used only to provide and improve Graspnote's user-facing save, search, wiki, brief, and chat features. It is not sold, used for advertising, or used to determine creditworthiness.

Retention and Deletion

We keep saved resources and generated knowledge data until you delete them or delete your account. Extension session tokens expire automatically and can be removed by disconnecting the extension or clearing the extension data in Chrome.

Changes

We may update this policy as Graspnote changes. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date.
